Between Birth and Death

Between Birth and Death

A Poem by Bashjasper

I stumbled a thousand times
Searching for words to scribble
About the time "between birth and death"
Yet, nothing evades me so quickly
Than the time "between birth and death"

So abundant, yet very volatile
Time to man is an opportunity
To seek the pleasures of this world
It vaguely leads him to illusion

But quintessential is the lesson she bears
To the world, she leaves a mark
So indelible to intelligence
Be it served or wasted

"Between birth and death" is a paradox
Smiles at birth, tears at death
A rhythmic mix of victory and loss
Which of the two shall I choose?

Lost am I to the choice
Till time forsakes me
Bearing no fruit of certainty
Nay, time forever exist

But "between birth and death"
Vast is time that ends in vanity
