The Jar

The Jar

A Poem by Jaspar

Keep my heart in a jar.
Such a sadistic souvenir.
I guess it's the least you deserve.
You broke it you bought it.
I gave it to you anyway,
so I suppose it's yours.
I don't need it anyhow.
I doesn't work the way it did.
You saw to that.
You're a noose.
A gun pointed at my heart.
Just finish the job and smash the jar.

Awww! The agony, the misery... its so well put. I also like the metaphor used here. It's very relatable.
Well done! I shall keep reading more from you! :)

I like the metaphor of the jar because it has a suggestion of emotion and feeling being contained only to be released in anger and passion at the end of the poem. I love "I don't need it anyhow, it doesn't work the way it did", it's a very powerful line. Know that you can and will heal in time hun x
