HeathcliffA Poem by J.L.MarcusMy thoughts, on placing myself into the position of Heathcliff following Cathy's marriage to Edgar in Bronte's Wuthering Heights.
If beauty be truth then you hath neither,
His echoes through thine ear and maiden's eyes; Beset with fears, believe, yet know she lies, Thou art be Art, yet art a grand deceiver. Chemistic Catherine spray thy ethyl ether Ethyl evil, set alight, thy fire rise. Her supple thighs beset her wisdom wise. Her soul infinite as Plato's Aether. I call you inspiration, elusive spark, Mine eye and heart be at a mortal war, Incoherence clouds over my e'er fixed mark You are beautiful, true, yet are you true? You lie. But fire in your eyes doth swore, Keats be false for he has beauty as do you. © 2013 J.L.MarcusAuthor's Note
