The Shallow End

The Shallow End

A Poem by JasonDay1975

She hears voices, asking her to go. She asks where, but they just don’t know. And if they do, their just not saying. It’s all apart of the twisted game their playing.

Step out girl, step out. Step out girl, you don’t belong here. Step out girl, step out, step out girl, not any longer.

She’s just standing there, twirling her curls. Wishing she was a pretty girl. Her mind says no, her body says yes. She’s wondering if she has a pretty dress.

She says maybe.. not this time. But, she’s been saying that her whole life. Wading in the shallow end to drown..

Wading in the shallow end to drown.
