A Chapter by Charles Petrie
"

Foolish hopes are often answered last.

"

"The life I have back home, it is entriely forgettable and an utter mess right now Noerdeber. here I could begin a new life. But to even hope to have such a thing, I know I would have to win my place here. Fighting Gathis would be a means to that end."

Noerdeber but not said a thing
To such an idiotic hope
For the only answer he could give
Would be an emphatic no
And there so then
He felt sympathy for the fool
Though why he did
Made no sense to him

"Are you mad human? We despise you all. Why would we want even one of you living among us?"

"Is that why you want to fight me? You think by fighting me you can somehow win your place amongst us? Ha ha ha human! Thank you for the laughter, it feels good to laugh like that again. It's been too long since I laughed so well."

Noerdeber looked at Gathis, but said nothing. Then looked back at Henry and said nothing yet again. Then he walked away.
