And there it was
The leader himself
Both standing up for
And equally chastising
The paper rabbit
"Hello Noerdeber, I am Henry Hilden The Third, you seem quite reasonable, unlike Beredin, so maybe you'd see fit to send me home." Henry paused to sneak a look at Beredin's face, then continued on again. "It's not like I know where you live, so I can't be a risk that way."
Noerdeber looked at Henry's proffered hand then at him, as if he was thinking on what to say. "You presume too much Henry Hilden The Third, though not as angry as Beredin, my best getter, do not mistake me for a human sympathizer."
"Thank you Noerdeber, as always, I appreciate your understanding and acceptance of me." This time, it was Beredin who did the look sneaking, though to Kobus who he leered at.
Kobus ignored that and directed his words to Noerdeber. "The human has a point sire. All we need do is return him to his city through the Hole and not have any worry that we will once again be forced to move to a new home."
"I have told you before Kobus, that move had nothing to do with the human that Beredin brought back, there was a traitor in our midst, who told the humans of our whereabouts...though that same rabbit has not been found, it has not been a problem since."
"So you say sire, but I remain worried that any human here can lead to nothing but trouble for us." This time, Kobus glared at Beredin quite openly.
"Enough of your petty sniping you two." Noerdeber then calmed himself and fixed a calm gaze at Kobus. "You doubt me do you Kobus? Is that what you mean by speaking so to me?"
"No sire, I only hope to give you wise counsel, nothing more. You are our undisputed leader Noerdeber, you need not ever question my loyalty."
