Roses On Her GraveA Poem by Charles PetrieA poem about a failed heroRoses On Her Grave
Roses on her grave As her I could not save So desperately I tried I almost died
A hero then That's what they said of me But after her That I couldn't be So help me God I lost the will To evil still
But the world went on As others better Picked up my slack And fought evil back That I'd have done
So fortunately so None else but she Suffered 'cause of me And the sun it rose And set like always before
Roses on her grave As her I could not save My sweet Eileen What would have been If never I was Some hero fool
A poem about a hero lost. Hey, I'm a fan of comic books, giving props...I hope, to them. That should be easy enough don't you think? Thanks.
