Painted Eyes and a Synthetic SmileA Poem by J.SinPoem from one of my published books - 2002.02.25Today I walked a path of broken glass to ponder the
meaning of my life with you. Through all the pain and all my efforts to give
you everything you wanted, the only thing you have left me with is a trail of
bloody footprints and a single tear. Painted eyes and a synthetic smile, I see my wings, I feel the bones stretching beneath my skin. I am alone again. I watch you wither through ageless eyes, I see my death upon your lips. When I touch you, the hatred boils, Deep within your immortal flesh. Painted eyes and a synthetic smile, The reflection builds a pyrite dream, deep within my heart. I have come home again. I breathe shadows of tainted promise, I taste your tears upon my lips. When you touch me, can you feel the lust, Coursing beneath my mortal breast? You are my insipient ego, A reticent image of the self, strength beneath my doubt. You have defined my dreams. I felt the scalpel as the horror, Was planted in my fragile heart. And I watched you forge the raven’s eye, So you could watch my winter death. But now as God, I have seen the end. And I have watched the walls of faith crumble beneath my
feet. Burned Heaven to the ground, I created the searing hatred, To place myself upon the throne. I will destroy the weak and worthless, And forever control my fate. Truthful eyes and a genuine smile, Reflection speaks a fading hope, for the love in my heart. I am never alone. I will always have my burning hate, Which scars the tears upon my lips. When you touch me, I see the future, I am Lord, I am King, I am God. © 2017 J.Sin |
