A Word on the Breeze.

A Word on the Breeze.

A Poem by Jason van Dongen
"

Just a poem.

"

Another day feeling uninspired and weak,

This is what came when I tried to speak:

‘If you give in, child, you will never move past

The clay that’s holding your ankles fast.’

I said, ‘Lord, I’ve been trying to change for years,

But I’m forever trapped behind my fears.’

The whispered words returned to me,

‘If you live for tomorrow, you’ll never be free.

Fear is your mind conjuring up a past,

For moments ahead and events not passed.’

This seemed to be wisdom, so I was stirred

To jot down for the reader that which I’d heard.

Loved it! My favorite line was 'The clay that's holding your ankles fast'.
The rhyming is not forced and the whole poem flows perfectly.
