'The Blackboard Nails Is All You Need This Friday!'A Story by Jason S BreedPress ReleaseIf you’ve got your work’s Christmas party this Friday then cancel it and head to the Wheatsheaf on North Street. The Blackboard Nails – a dark rock band that shimmer with grit and glam will be playing the Wheatsheaf Pub on North Street on Friday 5th December as part of their first UK tour. So far they have played several venues across the country including The Dublin Castle in Camden which has hosted bands such as Madness & Travis. The band are based over in Boston, Massachusetts and sprung from the ashes of Baby Strange who have played the pub in the past. The line-up in previous ventures has played renowned venues across the United States such as CBGB’s and The Viper Room. Their hammered out and fuzzed rhythm and grinding sleaze of guitar are a fitting backdrop to their luscious melodies and backed up with vocals and irreverent lyrics this in conjunction with the deep background of the bass and drums gives them a hypnotic and rather unique sound with influences from the likes of Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, David Bowie & Blondie. The band consists of Eric Dennen on Vocals & Guitar. Rosie Huntress on Vocals & Bass and Ryan Ennis on Drums. They are yet unsigned which seems a travesty for this talented trio. Check out them out on www. myspace.com/theblackboardnails and have a listen. So get yourselves to the Wheatie this Friday and you won’t be disappointed.
