'Those Pretty Lies.'

'Those Pretty Lies.'

A Poem by Jason S Breed

1st Verse

Those dead
Floating
Floating out
In the water

Reeling
Jaded
Water on the lung
And fading

Battling
The order
Come on home
Daddy

Fighting
Sobbing
I will rule
The old world order
NOW

CHORUS

Did you find
Wrapped up in lies
Throw it back
Those pretty lies
Those pretty lies
Lay dead in their eyes

2nd Verse

Faded
Hollowed out
Floating
Without ones help

Daddys
Been caught out
Sometimes
Its great to act sober

Baiting
And failing
Jumping
Both feet in the water

Inviting
As ever
Into treacherous
Waters
WE DROWN

CHORUS

Did you find
Wrapped up in lies
Throw it back
Those pretty lies
Those pretty lies
Lay dead in their eyes

3rd Verse

Stay dead
Without feeling
Our love
Im in fear to mention

Pray now
With head down
The cracks will appear
in the mortar

1st BRIDGE

Theyve been right
But no more.
Weve heard about it now
But you stayed in the warm.

So why dont you roll over
And let your melon head down
Go on well throw you a bone
And lay down
The virtue has gone

I tell you there was something there
About the things you dont want to know
Down in the dark mire
Lay down in the mire

3rd Verse Reprise

They came
To save you
Their word
Was your law and order

Wretched
And livid
The cracks ran
Deeper than we thoughtNOW

CHORUS

Did you find
Wrapped up in lies
Throw it back
Those pretty lies
Destiny
Walks by me

2nd BRIDGE

No more
Melon heads
Fetching bones
Down by the wall
So throw
Another bone
And the melon heads
Will fall
Down by the wall
The melon heads
Will roll
Down by the wall
And hear them
Shout bow-wow-wow
And theyll dig as they fall
No more

4th Verse

Destiny
At least you
Have opened up
My eyes to my failings

At least I
Have warned you
Made you stare at the cracks
in the pavement
NOW

CHORUS

Did you find
Wrapped up in lies
Throw it back
Those pretty lies
Those pretty lies
Lay dead in their eyes
