'On The Hook'

'On The Hook'

A Poem by Jason S Breed

They live in the world
of deaf-tone ears.
In a world oblivious
to the outside.

Gazing rabbit-like
in headlights of
mobile screens
and translucent dreams.

They fish at reality
onto the train
of radioactive scenes.

From the torture
of the 7.45 express,
They scurry
into their underground warren
like ferrets seeking
out a prize.
