The Fight of BreathA Poem by Jasnil Chand"The pandemic that turned the world upside down"
Achoo! Bless you
Turned to stay away, thank you Street empty, cities slept Suffering world wept and wept No cars or trains in sight No planes in flight Started as symptoms of common cold What was in store was far from what was told The winds are filled with cries and despair People are ready to give anything just for clean air Locked inside and nowhere to go Nature from friend became a foe Mask up and clean hands Noone dared to go meet friends Millions lost the battle trying to breathe Graveyards filled with thousands of wreaths Noone around to hold hands in the last days Thousands lay around while the body decays Will we be back to normal, it is hard to say The infection is adamant and is here to stay Our frontliners face it head on Mask free days and party days are long gone Be hopeful everyone says Gone are the days when children ran freely in the suns rays Emptiness and fears fill the air The heavens in the sky is now filled with prayer Help! I am in pain How bad will this get, please someone explain Hospitals and care facilities out of space People are terrified to even touch their face This sinister organism flies through the air Damages the body beyond repair Separation, isolation impending doom Forget funeral rites, bodies are thrown in the tomb People who were hopeful to see the next day May be fighting or even be dead today.
