i watched, i did, i sank.A Poem by Jasmine WalkerThis is a poem describing the changes and trials i have experienced recently. It is very personal to me.
I watched her go down hill and make mistakes.
I watched her resent those mistakes. I watched myself make mistakes, too. The only way to escape was in reach so i stretched out to the one thing i knew would make me feel infinite. And the snow fell, And my eyes poured, And the drink ran down my throat. The drink couldn't stop all the pain for long enough so i turned to the blade instead. Deep gashes i made upon my leg, the words 'FAT' and 'UGLY' engraved into my skin. I truly believe that is what i am and no compliments will i take. I just can't help but realise it's still me that's making those irreversible mistakes. And the snow fell, And my eyes poured, And the blood ran down my leg. When all the weight of the world seemed to come, I searched for something new. I found cigarettes presenting themselves and that was when i knew. So i let the smoke float away from my mouth with the hope that my worries would go with it The red hot glow of the tobacco shone through the shroud on my happiness And finally, i felt infinite And the snow fell, And my eyes could not pour, And the thick smoke filled the air.
