Pirate Song

As a one-eyed pirate 

Trudging through rough seas.

Braveness and hope

I can amass more gold.

What is the point of all this treasures?

When all I want is to conquer and rebel?

Hoping that someday good tides will turn 

On this weary pirate song.

Growing up I used to make believe I was either a pirate or a virtuous medieval knight. I liked pirates because they got to travel the world on the high seas. Explore many coastal places and cultures, as well as see things very few had the opportunity too. I'm older now but once in awhile I still dream of being on a large ship of my own and sailing into the wild blue beyond. Thank you Jasmin for this fun little poem.
