Peace

Peace

A Poem by Jasmijn

How she fought for love
Was so pure and real
people envied her for that
yet they could never feel

In a way it was so obvious
She was suffering and stuck in her own lies
but that's not how they wanted it to be
"she will do it, she's been surviving for such a long time"

She couldn't remember the last time her spirit felt free
She got stuck in her own prison
black was the only color left to see

Loneliness came kicking in
she didn' recognize who she had become
selfdestruction as a way of selfdefence
knowing this fight could never be won

She drained in sorrows and guilt
dreaming of a world with peace and pearls
the truth needs to be spoken, she wasn' ready for the world
yet the world wasn't ready for this girl

She was a tough one
and when she shattered, she even did it so beautifully
she was the purest soul this universe had ever seen

And that my closest ones,
is how I want you all to remember me
