Have you ever wondered 

About the in and outs?

Where outside there is a beautiful face

But it’s just the inside that counts?

And after hours and hours

Of applying make-up that devours

Your skin and self confidence

What a coincidence

That you only blend in

You don’t stand out

Because what’s outside doesn’t matter

It’s the inside that counts

(I don’t have a problem with the saying at all. I’m just using the perspective of someone who already changed for the world so much, and it doesn’t matter now that everyone was affected by it- if that makes any sense)

This is a nicely crafted piece. A nice rhythm that makes it enjoyable to read, which is also aided by the connections each line shares with the ones before and after it. Good job. No need to apologize for the length, a poem only needs to be as long as it needs to be. And I don't know about you but I enjoy shorter stuff more usually!

Actually, the short ones are often the most effective. The philosophy here is sound. It is the inner life that is most essential, for in our highest consciousness there is no time and no change. Thus the makeup mentioned in the poem is not needed. It is not the real you.
