Heroes evening

                                Heroes evening

The water, so bare and moist with the tears of the people in the village.

The battle horns sing in and out of tone as the lifeless body of a god falls so deeply into the river.

Enveloped in seaweed, and with a white rose bonded to his chest. They settle his body in.

The tears fall of the children. Their hero dead.

A widow in his sash, which he held dear as he marched into battle.

Marched with the widest grin she has ever seen

Marched to the unknown.

His son on his shoulders in an old photograph. Now his son old enough to understand, cried as the river pulls the seaweed covered body down the long river.

Said to be the gateway to the holy land.

The song grows soft and the world stops rotating.

Life is a delusion.

However, it is cherished by most and yet sacrificed by all.

The villagers watch. Hear the world start to wind back up.

And fade as the deed has been done.

The hero watches his body as well.

The ending leaves me with many thoughts. Life itself is a wonder and you made that very clear and how people sacrafice their own lives or the hero in your story. A village hero... This makes me think of soldiars fighting in wars too. Death.. God.. I loved this. :) well done.

somehow, it gave me the chills! great imagery. it's different from everything i've read so far today, so it's like smelling coffee beans after lots and lots of bottles of perfume. And that's a good thing, anyway. (: You're a good writer.

very interesting, different than any poem ive read in quite awhile. very refreshing.
well, it flowed differently than most poems since its written in sentences, but they still flowed nicely together. it tells an interesting story here and u did a good job on the descriptions. i liked this, so good job

Oh, I love this! It's really pretty, and I like poems that have some kind of line that provokes newer thoughts. Kind of like a mini-plot-twist in a poem. Beautiful poem, I love your work. Keep it up. :3
