Perfection

Perfection

A Poem by J.R Schlievert
"

enjoy

"

what is perfection? is it a person? an idea? a will? Perfection in my mind a axiom that only god can acquire. perfection is a disgrace for a mortal. but ideas, storys, and imaginary people can be perfect. a five year old can imagine the most flawless companion to play with. a man can create the perfect idea to help his affair. a writer can write a perfect book from beginning to end. in the supposition, in the opinion, in the magical world called our imagination. perfection exists.

I think you are right perfection does exsist in our imaginations and our characters are capable of achieving it with our help, perfection is also over rated, for without flaws there would be no variety of life...therefore no need to strive for perfection.
i would like to quote morgan freeman from Robin hood-prince of theives-' there are no perfect men, only perfect intentions'....
so there you have it..you are right, within reason..

The depth of your thoughts here are outstanding! And i like it over all!

(ps. did you mean exsist as the last word? you have excises...just curious)

Indeed people can never be perfect. But can perfection really be produced by imperfect beings? That seems like it would be a different definition of the word. Perfection to me seems like it must be created from purity, and man will never possess that... although a child might. I don't know definitely a lot to think about. Nice rant.

Dear J.R.,

Indeed, what is perfection, and does it exist? Well the very idea of perfection is subjective. So it can exist if you this something is perfect. But it is not objective and in that sense it doesn't exist in the absence of someone giving it meaning.

Interesting poem.

Best regards,

Rick

Perfection is in own minds and imagination indeed. This reminds me of the idea of love. When a person is in love, they see the other person as their image of perfect, everything, or close to it, that they could ever ask for in person...but that is different for everyone.

Beautiful idea friend =]

Yes you right perfection is only in our imaginations. anyone can try to be perfect but only God can really be perfect. I only see that you wrote storys insted of stories. I really liked this poem. :)

A very thoughtful write. Perfection does exist only in our imaginations.
No human being is capable of attaining perfection, at least not in one lifetime.
We can all imagine perfection, but whose imaginings are accurate. Which of us can imagine true perfection?
We each have our own ideas about it.

You put storys instead of stories, but this is also a great write. After being told there's no such thing as perfect, I think you're right here, it does exist. I also agree with Kelli, without flaws there would be, as she said, "no variety of life" but there also wouldn't be mistakes to help us learn and learning is one of the biggest things people need, we all have to learn, it's the only way TO get to perfection. I love this write, as I do with most of your work. :D

Well, with this type of writing, i think the use of capitalization would have been more aiding in expressing your point. The thought process behind this was intelligent but i feel the idea of perfection for a mortal being a 'distgrace' is something that should be slightly explained more

If perfection existed in the human, there would be no reason for our existence. We are here on a trial basis. Perfection would cancel that trial. Your writing points out how society could benefit from it. How a child utilizes it. But is there really a definition for perfection or is it much like beauty, lying within the eye and mind of the person seeking or observing it. You could be right in saying it is a disgrace for humans, it could create a society of droids. No need to exercise thought or anything else. This writing is very interesting and gives the reader "food for thought". Thank you for sharing this with us.
