Beyond my grasp.A Poem by Jared braden
Carpe diem,
Taught before the limbs had learned their functions. Lacking understanding to what lay beyond those words. Master the moment. Arms extended out to grasp it Each time fingers falling just short. Failure after failure, Traveling further from the land. Seconds away, it'd slip away into the abyss. Knowledge of the light but lost in familiar darkness. The oblivion. Far from freedom. Lacking Love. Engulfed in hopelessness. Stretched beyond the eyes limits. A thought remained. A single secluded thought. Happiness existed. A single drop of will remained. The last drop of water and remnants of live from the barren riverbed. Manifesting itself into momentum. Sailing onward. Steward to the ship. Sailing through the seas of sorrow. Still waiting for the sight. Searching endlessly day and night alike. Year flowed by, The certain cycle of the moon had passed by, countless times. In passing came exhaustion. Becoming a prisoner to fatigue. Alas! the day had come, The will to fight had floated away. Giving up on the vision I closed my eyes. Leaving the ship to steer itself For the sailor had long since left Riding the ship of sadness awaiting certain death.
