Unconditional love

So many now are afraid to love as if it is limited. That was my inspiration for this piece. It's just the rough draft but thought I'd share.

Trapped behind
broken hearts,
broken dreams,
broken memories.
In each of us unconditional love awaits the day to be set free.

Conditioned to think that love could die.
As if it were a cat that had only nine lives.
Hidden from the cruelty, the brutality, the cold grasp of hate.
But truth cannot stay hidden it is part of its fate.
Eventually the hearts frozen over will be warm once again.
The selfishness and ego removed cleansed of sin.

The truth that love cannot cease to be
It is the meaning of life, within it the key.
It is a candle who's light can light a thousand more.
For those trapped inside darkness, it unlocks the door.
Freedom from hatred, greed, and shame.
We must find our love and spark the flame.

Personally, this poem is my table for one. Not only is it exquisitly written with rhyme in just the perfect places, but your words capture the true essence of unconditional love. I could not have said it any better for you have written what I feel although it can never be with this person, not in this lifetime. Fate won't allow it.
Your prose speaks a thousand truths in delightful banter as if the words were conversing with themselves.
