Stop

Stop

A Poem by Johnny A. Rojas
"

A thought on my life of what i have done thus far

"
Stop, wait, listen
What if tomorrow
you stop to exist?
What would the angels say?
That you lived your life well;
or that you should have
just been sent to hell?

Did you accomplish something
Or just lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Where the light doesn't matter

Listen to your soul
Stop; where is your danger zone?
Wait the decision can only be made
By you alone

i think of this notion often, and wonder if the angels would just forgive what needs forgiving and send us on our way to whatever's next - but i think the real message of this poem, conveyed in piercing questions that go beyond mere rhetoric, is that we shouldn't even need to ask ourselves this sort of thing, in that the revelations and the answers should be in the way we live regardless of what happens.
