i think of this notion often, and wonder if the angels would just forgive what needs forgiving and send us on our way to whatever's next - but i think the real message of this poem, conveyed in piercing questions that go beyond mere rhetoric, is that we shouldn't even need to ask ourselves this sort of thing, in that the revelations and the answers should be in the way we live regardless of what happens.
