When darkness falls

Society's wrath
…… is all that's left to say.
My once bright path,
…… now shrouded in gray,
Everything in life
…… turns against me each day.

The world I knew,
…… where love and hope did stay,
Now breeds disdain,
…… and I'm forced to stray.
From every corner,
…… a challenge comes to linger,
And I'm left to face it,
…… filled with somber.

The voices whisper,
…… "You're to blame,"
The echoes taunt,
…… "You're not the same."
The once familiar streets
…… now seem to claim,
I'm an outcast,
…… and left to proclaim.

But still I hold on,
…… to the light within,
A spark that guides
…… through the darkest din.
For in the heart of me,
…… a fire still burns,
A flame that fuels the spirit
…… that helps me yearn.
