Destiny

Destiny

A Poem by Michelle Allende
"

Destiny is real, it is what it is and no one can change it....

"

Never have I ever or do I ever regret our love,
It is definitely something made from above.
Above where the almighty plans our destiny and life,
To do it all over again I would never think twice.
I would give my all to make sure you are satisfied,
To make you happy always I have always tried.
Your touch comforts me and makes me smile,
Oh how I begin to miss you even if we are not apart for a while.
We have so many good times just sitting and chatting,
From the start I was able to tell you anything.
I feel we share more than a lifetime, and a century of dreams,
I knew you since we met up were to be even as teens.
Im glad our lives have crossed again,
And forever you will be even more than a friend.

This is such a tender poem, full of love, and, I feel, full of memories, it's rings out happiness too and that made me feel happy for you.

Everything flowed sooooo smoothly, tho' maybe more so when you stopped using words that rhymed., it's not always necessary as long as there's a sense of rhythm line by line.

'Your touch comforts me and makes me smile.. Oh how I begin to miss you... ' so loving, so sweet.

Michelle, thank you for sharing such a strong emotion. :-)

Just a really beautiful and touching write.
Destiny, in my opinion anyway, seems like a difficult topic to write on, its easy to make it too sickly sweet and flowery. I think its a strength of your write that it seems neither here, instead it feels like a force which commands are life and gives us something positive in exchange for our complice with it (does that make sense?).
I think your opening lines were really well written, setting the tone of the poem nicely. Your use of a long line lenght gave it beauty and calm. Your wording throughout also had a calming effect and overall the poem felt really personal - almost like this was a letter being read aloud to someone (this is how it made me feel anyway).
Congrats on this poem.
