Fallen Angel

Not sure what inspired this.

I'm placing this shattered heart of mine

In this little box so divine

 

This angel has fallen from the sky

Her heart is gone leaving her so cold

 

She travels the earth trying to find it

Unable to fly without its warmth

 

So much time passes her by

And this fallen angel forgets she's not human

 

Her once radiant blue eyes are now grey and cold

Her once warm and cherished smile is now a permenant line

 

Days turn into weeks and weeks into months

And still no sign of her precious heart

 

I placed this shattered heart of mine

In this little box so divine

Trying to hide it and let it heal

While watching this angel fall from the sky

 

When the time comes to set my heart free

This angel finds me

 

She tells me to let it out and feel again

So she can be warm and fly back home

 

I let it out and feel love once more

And this grey fallen angel turns white

 

She flashes me a brilliant smile

And I watch her fly away with tears in my eyes
