I was crying, my heart in pieces

Wishing I was dead, thought no one cared

I didn't expect you

I couldn't believe someone as perfect as you

Would care about someone as flawed as me

I didn't expect the hug you gave me

Or the shoulder to cry on that you offered

My mind was spinning in all directions

I couldn't believe this

Someone as perfect as you

Cared about someone as flawed as me

Very emotionally written, that's what I love in poetry, and you have a great way of forcing the reader to embrace the passion in your writing. Whether the writing be morose or overjoyed, the reader experiences exactly what you are feeling, and that is an amazing ability to have. This is a great poem, gradually going from depressed to hopeful, which makes it very inspirational.

This is a really good poem. The idea is one I can relate to and you express it perfectly; just a laconic sense of being in debt to someone's love. The thing is though, you're probably not as flawed as all that! =)
