Good similes--you did a good job with comparison. However poetry is not just about outright comparison--I would suggest experimenting with something more subtle, like an extended metaphor or metonymy (I love metonymy). You'll notice that I used the word "love" in the last sentence. There are many different types of love, so I definitely think you could be more specific here.

This is probably my favorite of the ones of yours that I have read.
It is strong and true and bold. Many of the other poems had some of these qualities but...
Yeah, this one's just my favorite.
The rhyme is a good touch, too.
