You wait and you wonder

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You wait and you wonder, will they ever come home?

They left to fight for our country

They went in battle unknowing

Not knowing the real dangers ahead

 

Young soldiers fresh out of college

All excited and enthusiastic

Desperate to defend for us all

Innocent young men are they

 

The sights they see

The innocent, the young and the old

How is this affecting them all?

It will take time to find out

 

The destruction, the despair, the bloodiness, and the pain

Bring back our brothers ,fathers, husbands and sons

Home safe to their waiting loved ones

Who have waited and wondered everyday they are gone.

I really liked it. When you see video clips in History class concerning the world war, you can see that the soldiers - especially the young - look happy and excited about the possible adventures lying ahead of them, but so unaware of the devastation that will pursue. You captured the moment really well and intricately. Thank you for sharing
