Our touristsA Poem by JanieBOur tourists
The tourists are here And don’t we know it The “red plates” as we call them Driving along at 10 miles an hour Men in their new shirts, bought by their wives Oh, don’t they look hideous, and the poor souls know it! Beer bellies hanging out Unshaven and smelling of beer Women in sling backs, a thong and a bikini top What a sight they look, if only they knew They think they look beautiful More makeup on than is in the shop! Typical they are, our tourists that come But we do love to see them really Makes us laugh and have a giggle At their expense of course I’m sorry we do this But life on the island awaits them coming Makes our summer fun But, I confess we also love you to go Then we get our lives back No red plates to avoid No beer bellies whilst eating your lunch No half naked tourists Please come back soon though We do miss you all Got to have a laugh At your expense, sorry..
