Her OrchardA Chapter by My Fair LadyFor the One who needs his heart weaved back together every now and thenIn trance-like wanderings He tenderly retraces Familiar footsteps Upon well worn paths that lead him here Day after day Year after year Her orchard His heaven He always stops to watch her In her natural state Unaware of him As this is when she is most beautiful Most natural Quietly he reveals his arrival As she pulls him into her In warm and welcome greeting As he lay His tired body On Velvet grass His gentle face In comfort of her Flowing skirts His undeniable masculinity Somehow set aside Caught in her aura Once Upon a time He had found his muse Looking closely At each and every tree Every bud and every flower Captivated by how she gently coaxed every blossom As well as his very soul to Bend to her voice Each and every branch Bring forth magnificent fruit That will grace her table Upon harvest moon He remembers how her youthful hands Had planted these trees Groomed and pruned Watered and weeded Until each and every one Became Fruitful and glorious He remembers Watching her carefully Tending to each blossom Grooming his very soul As they lie together Only the earthy scents and moonlight know them Shrouded by the leaves Of the life giving trees On handmade quilts She reads him poetry Her tender whispering captivating him even still Sonnets of adoration He falls deeper Into her hypnotic voice While he sleeps She tenderly weaves The broken places of his heart Back together © 2011 My Fair Lady |
