The VesselA Chapter by My Fair Lady
You saw that I was crying As each teardrop fell You captured it
You placed my tears In your vessel And carried them with you
You saw that I was empty As I declared I have no heart
You said close your eyes And put out your hands I have something for you
You had the courage To take your heart And place it in my fragile care
You asked me Please keep it
I said you need your heart What will you carry if I carry yours You said I will carry your tears
I carried your heart And rediscovered mine
You saw that I was ready To empty the tear filled vessel You danced as I poured it Into the ocean
I saw that you carried nothing And asked Would you like your heart back You said no.. it was no longer yours It was mine
I said close your eyes And put out your hands I have something for you
I took my heart And gave it to you © 2010 My Fair LadyReviews
