And the sky is painted

In soft pinks and purples

As I wrap myself

In a warm fluffy towel

After a delicately scented bath

When my table is spread

With your favorite meal

And the bread that I baked for you

With each breath I take

I will remember you

And how I love you so

When the aspen leaves dance upon the branches

Like suspended glitter

Shimmering in the wind

 

Think of me

As you bite into soft peaches

With velvety skin

Savor the sweetness on your lips

When you walk into the kitchen

And even if I am not there

Remember me barefoot in my dress and apron

When you hear a piano playing

Soft and melodious

Sonatas of the heart

In every cabin near or far

Rustic and raw, hand hewn and unique

Soft glowing light coming from my windows
