I learn trust from you

 

Truth is action
Say one thing and do another
Is that right?

 

Your lecturing words
fall upon closed ears
or is it my heart that was closed?

I should listen to you
more than I do
but I can't believe
in what you were saying to me
I am too inexperienced to know the difference yet.

I watch for you
Listen for you footsteps in the dark
and pray you will not
come for me
in the dark of the night

 

I learn trust from you

 

Did you know that I am looking
for your love
and affection
but not like that?
I just want you lo love me

Fear is not love

 

The day will break
you will be sorry,
or at least say so
I will want to believe you

I want to see the good in you

the positive things

I will want to trust you

but I can't

and I remember

all the things you tell me

to forget

and then the
circle will
start
again.

Hello M' Lady,

A great write, and I absolutely agree that we need to prevent child abuse. It's a tragedy each and everytime a child suffers needlessly. If only I could get thrills from killing those who deserve their fates, but I try to toss one in here and there.
