Unrequited...

Unrequited...

A Poem by Anindita Janhabee
"

The purest form of love

"

A seed never sown
A plant that had never grown
A quill in air just blown
Something intangible and unknown...

A dream dreamt every night
Each darkness removed by that light
Out of touch, out of sight
Shining like the star so bright...

A wish remaining unfulfilled forever
Sometimes it's okay to be like a river
Cool breeze around yet no shiver
A feeling bittersweet however...

A heart that is broken
Once which was happily stolen
Letting a life darken
With just few words spoken...

I definitely felt the sadness in your words. I thought you painted a lovely, pristine picture. I especially loved the first and third stanzas. The last line in the last stanza pinched my heart.

I can relate to this poem, having being in love with someone who cannot be with me. It is indeed like a flower that will never fully bloom.

Beautifully written :-), Anindita. Loving the one who can never be ours is toughest thing to do and purest too. A selfless emotion/ unrequited love is very nicely expressed here through some lovely words.
I loved the third stanza alot.
Keep Writing :-)
By the way you have a beautiful name.

Can't agree more....Each line had very deep emotions attached to it.... when we love someone so Much and when it's not reciprotated back the same way it hurts...still we love....it's the purest form of love when we don't expect anything but just offer our love...thanks for sharing this wonderful creation....you are a gifted child keep writing :)

Thanksssss lotssssss for your wonderful words... always appreciated dear....
At first I was of the opinion that the speaker had never experienced love, which jarred with the title and preamble.
The second stanza confirmed this feeling (and may I say, did it in a truly beautiful allegory).
Then we again are given the impression that love has never called at the speaker's door.
Finally in the last stanza the title makes sense. There was love... once.

I'd suggest a new title - perhaps not alluding to lost love so explicitly.
You do write beautifully Anindita.

the first thing i thought of was how heartbreaking it is to witness wasted talent. It is sad how the most brilliant are afraid to shine their light on every hillside.

Great work, I think love unreturned is one of the most painful experiences possible yet you've turned it into something very beautiful.
