It's unfair...

It's unfair...

A Poem by Anindita Janhabee
"

A sad story within a poem...

"

I was happy in my way

It was you who interrupted

Still I hated you

Till when it got unexpected...

      I never looked at you

      It was you who stared

      Whatever you did

      I never cared...

You let me know

The care you had for me

And I could not deny

Cause I too was able to see…

      I began to search

      The hidden miracle in you

      You showed up in happiness

      I thought it was true…

I asked you for friendship

You gifted me with great pleasure

I lived in it cheerfully

As every time you did assure…

Each day we lived to the fullest

      With unexplained blushes and smiles

Each night we hoped the best

      With innumerable messages till miles…

Then you told over the phone

That it was something called love

It felt me like a dream

Like god had sent an angel from above…

      You promised me

To fulfill each wish of mine

You were the first to say this

And in me you began to shine…

You let me know about your past

And I heard being strong

For a moment I thought

All my thoughts were wrong…

You proved that she was the only one

Whom your heart you would lend

      Still I kept patience

Because then I was only your friend…

The fine line which we had crossed

Could then never bring us back

I kept shedding tears

Asking myself what did I lack…

      I did not want you

      To become my past

      Cause once you assured me

      That it would ever last…

I accepted your past

As well as you

Still I was waiting for you to say

That it was not at all true…

      Time passed by

And it seems everything was gone

      Only your writings did remain

For making me hurt and torn…

If it is told ‘trust in god’

Who even broke the best pair

Then god must realize

It was really unfair…

thanks for the visit as well as the sweet review...
I read your words and just ached in the sadness, of this loving, of this learning and reaching, only to find yourself let go in the darkness. Nothing is more beautiful and sacred than love, and nothing is more painful and bitter than loving as heart's grow distant. May you find such healing and light, precious poet.

I can feel the words of a broken heart in this piece. You use your words so wonderful it is almost like magic. Life is unfair but, honestly, that is what makes it beautiful as well that it is so unpredictable. Thank for writing this piece. N.

thank u once again sir..... thanks a lot for the encouragement and support!!!
Very much a heartfelt piece. A cute story as well. Going from something completely innocent and adorable like friendship in which someone wants more but is awaiting their day, to the day when the peaceful, innocent happiness shatters with the realization that that person may never get the returned feelings they want. This is definitely something I can relate to. I've been there and believe me, it tore my heart to pieces. I cannot tell you how many tears I shed. To this day, I still cannot say that I am over him.

So very heartfelt Anindita. Hearts are so vulnerable when they are young.
Love these lines:

Most Welcome :)
This is a very sad story that you have related in this poem. Someone oblivious to love was made to realize how important she was in someone's life.
She was shown dreams and then she started dreaming and floating on a cloud.
Finally comes the heart break and the final realization that life is unfair.
Simple words that tell of a heart break.
Nicely done.

thanks for the sweet words....I m glad u liked it...
Wow...Anindita this poem is a heartrending tale of a true lover. I have to agree too, with everything you said in this poem...That whatever happened to you....IT'S UNFAIR
You started your love story in a very romantic way(Like every romantic story starts)...First you never wanted to talk but he insisted and then he showed you how beautiful life is...Then comes the period where you enjoyed every moment you could find to share your stories, secrets, jokes and your problems. This is a period which is most painful to forget because in this period moments were infinite, your dreams were shaped into realities and things really started happening. Who would like to put a full stop to such life where you get everything you want.
Then comes the part where he told you about his previous love...I wonder why he told you when everything was going good. Maybe he was just sharing his secrets. When this thought or idea is injected in to your mind, then you can't avoid thinking about what's going to happen. And that is what haunted you but you kept it a secret from him, like a true lover does. I remember this quote from my all time favorite movie Inception "What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. Resilient... highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed - fully understood - that sticks; right in there somewhere."....This means you were aware of the danger. Some part of this quote applies to your story.

Now comes "TIME", a factor which seems to be ruling your world. Because it was time which made you friends and it was also responsible for the unbearable separation. Mr.Time has been doing this since the beginning of the world.
You ended your poem with many questions...questions, which you want him to answer....Because to you, everything that happened, is beyond understanding and I agree with you on that too.
Now, coming to your poem
You have done amazingly well in using poetry as a good way of describing your inner feelings. I admire your writing abilities because you told your whole story in few lines, without keeping out your emotions and pain you went through in this love story.
Very nicely written...Keep it up.
