The Extraordinary Makings of a Man

The Extraordinary Makings of a Man

A Poem by Janet Ferolito
"

An analogy of the patience required for perfection and how to appreciate it.

"
Taking up sharp scissors and slicing through the diverse fabrics
Gripping tightly and ripping fibers with conviction, quite fantastic

Pricking needles into pieces, a constant cadence of pierce and tug
Tying fast a tiny knot, biting excess once it's snug

It may sound quite abusive; an obtrusive act of service
To craft a splendid cloth of comfort and of purpose

This aggressive, passive patience renders solace to embrace  you
A medley of strength and gentleness to caress the face of you

You can gather up the edges to wrap around you all together
Or have it gently laid atop you on nights with chilly weather

A jumble of thread and cloth, costly time, your sweat and tears
But once the pieces are in place,  you've a treasure throughout the years

.
. a brilliant choice of analogy ... making this poem brilliant ... and the rendition is exceptional too ... i particularly liked the 7th and 8th lines respectively ... and all the instances of alliteration ...
