Masquerade

Masquerade

A Poem by Jane Smith

  Blemished souls scattered around

Broken angles do abound

Tinted from belligerent past

Genuine sentiment they have masked

Subdued spirits wither away

Eloquent disguises start to decay

Unconsciously living in a masquerade

Lost and alone through life they wade.
