Again wonderful meaning here, that's what poetry is about driving deep into ourselves and reaching the world in a different light that only you can see and make a change not only your surroundings but most importantly yourself. Finding and becoming the real you. I think you might like this short inspirational philosophical video on YouTube , type in Alan Watts The Real You. Anyways I really enjoyed your poem and I'm glad I got the opportunity to read and see you are finding the true meaning of writing . Edgar Allan Poe said once " If you haven't had a poem ripped you apart yet you haven't experienced poetry". But seeing you have the connection with your soul and writing from the heart. Keep writing and thanks again.
Sincerely Your friend in poetry and life.

I guess the hard thing to do when you write a poem is to actually dig so deep into your soul and heart that you realize how damaged you really are. And the harder thing to do is to pick up the pieces of this broken mess and try to write it without falling apart completely.
I am glad you liked it so much.

Pain is like an stepping stone to a greater pathway or walking along the broken road . All we can say God Bless the broken road as Rascal Flatts sing it haha. But in some ways, we spend most of our lives under a spell. The habits of reaction woven into our cells by our responses to painful events in our history, as well as more general cultural and family mores, have been entrancing us since we were very young. A poem can pierce this familiar dream and ignite a quikening within. As poet Pablo Neruda says: " and something started in my soul, fever or forgotten wings, and I made my own way deciphering that fire". But thanks for sharing and keep writing it heals all wounds :). Sincerely your friend in writing and life.
Bravo! Great philosophical depth and meaning with an inspirational moral, I give it five out of five Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!
I do have one criticism, I am not a fan of the short choppy sentence structure as they take much of the flow away when read out loud unless you have long pauses between lines. I grew up in the 50's and 60's when coffee shops and night clubs had poetry readings so I am of the mindset that poetry should be heard as well as read. This takes nothing away from how good your poem is, I hope you get the chance to read it out loud sometime as it has such a great message :~)

I can really relate to this, I became a lot more confident as I figured out who I am and what I wanted in life. The funny thing is that I'm now different to a lot of people, yet feel more confident. I guess that's the angle you're working at here?

Sometimes people keep telling us that we are perfect the way we are, yet we feel trapped in our own bodies. We feel like we don't belong in our own personality, our own world.
