A Perfect Day

A Perfect Day

A Poem by Firemay
"

Don't let the hate of others destroy your spirit

"

We hide inside our little homes

For we are young and scared

We open arms and minds and legs

But burry our heads in games

We hide behind the broken glass

By far the worst of all

We hide here all alone and now

We are afraid to fall

The world is full and ahead of us

However, empty in our soul

We bend and break for them again

Before we feel the cold

We look in front of us

It’s our time to break loose

We search for that is not lies

Trying to see the truth

It is our chance to shine

The ones with love and lit

It’s our chance to be the ones

We can only now see it

We seek for our own freedom

They laugh and fully say

A day with no suffers or pain

There is no thing as such a day

They want success and money

I want to live a perfect day

They want gold and treasure

However, that is not our way

We’ll prove for once and for all

Despite their laughs and hate

A day like that does exist

Because, perfect is our fate

"We look in front of us
It’s our time to break loose
We search for that is not lies
Trying to see the truth". I say everyday is the invention of the new and here what I read is very relatable . Trying to define ourselves while living in a world that breaks you and what we have to carry is valuable pain. But you wrote beautifully and felt every word here very deeply. I recommend you listen to this one song It's called: No one is to Blame by Howard Jones . Here's a link to it https://youtu.be/V-A6WH1kQLc.
If it doesn't work search the name . The song is about unfulfilled attractions, saying that they're normal and commonplace ("We want everyone - no one ever is to blame"). It uses a number of metaphors, such as "You can look at the menu, but you just can't eat" and "It's the last piece of the puzzle, but you just can't make it fit," to describe the frustration of experiencing attraction but being unable to act on it, for whatever reason. On a deeper level it describes the frustration and pain of unfulfilled desires and dreams inherent in the human condition. And keep writing thought to share this poetic song . Thanks for the read request. You have the soul in your writing!.

Sincerely Your friend in writing and life.

When life is full of broken glass, it can paint a cold and lonely picture, which only intensifies, because it is within us and consumes our every thought. But all that is needed is just one single moment of clarity, whatever it may be, that casts a tiny doubt on our hopelessness, which can hopefully, turn to hope.
I really like the penultimate line " a day like that does not exist" It leads me to think you are correct, because if we had a perfect day, wouldn't every other day after be a disappointment? But maybe, perfect days do exist and what makes them perfect is the knowledge there can be better yet to come. :)

A fine read-- I liked the optimism in the piece. Shedding away all of the superficial things to live a life of beauty, or to grow into something beautiful. Good work. :)

I did enjoy and you are welcome.
I like how you discuss light and dark elements in the same stanzas. I've read a few of your poems and that seems a running theme for you. Keep it up!

I liked the idea of the poem. I haven't read many poems that rhyme very often. It was kind of boring though. It just wasn't really one of my favorites,
