Stranded

Stranded

A Poem by Jamye
"

It's about our decisions.

"

Stranded

Stranded behind these doors and walls.

Seemingly walking alone in these halls.

Part of a couple, but really alone.

Married to a man made of stone.

Floors are cold as is his heart.

Years of bitterness ripping us apart.

The amount of tolerance appalls.

Yet, I am stranded behind these doors and walls.

Should I stay or should I go?

If I leave, would he know?

He would miss me not, I fear.

Still I wonder...why am I here?

The decision is mine, to leave or stay.

I have the mind to do as I may.

Though my heart might crack and tears flow,

Tis better to rescue oneself than to feel low.

No human should endure such sorrow,

When happiness is held in tomorrow.

A weak person inevitably falls.

Should he be standed behind these doors and walls?

I really enjoyed this and can empathize with the emotion and pain behind the words. I lived a similar life until a few years ago. Thank you for sharing this poem.

I think this is very powerful, and very emotional. Really well written, also, it rhymes, and I love poetry that rhymes.
