We’re even now

We’re even now

I took the bus to Gary last night

Watched the town go by in the daylight

I crawled into your bed last night

Saw the sun streaks in your hair like highlights

I woke up in my bed last night

Remembered your eyes shining bright

You remembered my lie

How I left when you needed me

You drank up my lie

How I was as cold as day-old tea

You copied my lie

How I said we couldn’t be

I hid a knife behind my back

We’re both here somehow

You hid a knife behind your back

We’re both here because karma allowed

We hid knifes behind our backs

We’re even now
