Haven

Haven

A Poem by Jamie Starlight

Rain bullets off the roof above you
and a rumble sounds in the distance.

Wind blows against your barrier
With a Creaky shriek.

You lay curled between layers of blankets
with a novel as my companion.

Haven I would call this feeling,

knowing the outside world is
filled with violent forces of
nature
whilst you lay safely bundled
under
a nest of blankets.

A soldier feeling safe and comfort under a blanket while being surrounded by violence in a battlefield that's what it seems the boy must feel in the night of thunder even though he hasn't experienced war haha. beautiful poem you got here.
