Shattered Dream

Every night I see you.
I stutter out the words I've been hiding in my heart.
You take my hand and grin in a way that makes my heart skip around like
a pebble on a pound.
You lean close to my ear and whisper
"I love you too my dear."
Every word you say turns my heart into a fluttering bird.
Than you hold me like you'll never let go.
 Just as you lean towards my lips I wake up tangled in my sheets.
Once again I realize it was just
a shattered dream....
