Between

Between

A Poem by Jamie R. Robillard Sr.
"

We all want to find that center inside of us, a place our core is at a perfect balance.

"

As the light erupts across the sky

your morning has just begun

as cries of avow are birthed

I sing to you my little one...

'tis not at this extreme

'tis between

You can endure no more of this abundance

Your girths limit has been reached

Ill content and miserable

I say to you my child...

'tis not at this extreme

'tis between

Your barren face has lost its color

You are barely there at all

starving and desperate

I reason with you...

'tis not at this extreme

'tis between

Not a thought for anything else can be

she is all that you will see

obsession overcomes thee

Will you hear my plea...

'tis not at this extreme

'tis between

Her softest touch has torn your heart apart

madness grips you to your core

grief has manifest rage

listen to my screams

'tis not at this extreme

'tis between

As the light dims across the sky

your twilight finally arrives

as sorrow finds its rest

I utter my last goodbye...

'tis not at this extreme

'tis between

I like how it is a day or a life time depending on the way you look at it, but I choose a day because a life time would be to sad.
This poem can really speak to that need we all feel to be balanced and in control or in the least maybe just to be at peace with ourselves. Sometimes I freak out over minuscule things because they seem really fricikin important right in that moment when in hindsight I realize I have caused my self a ridiculous amount of stress over something that does not even matter anymore. I have cried for things that will never get better, screamed at people that will never change , and prayed to a god I am not sure is listening. These theatrics and dramatics do not have to be our norm and this poem helps to remind me of that. I am not sure if that was your intent but that is what I take from it.

What an exquisite write.. This has such a soft, gentle tone that whispers of understanding and guidance for another.. I adore some of the phrasing in this one... and the flow is quite dreamy... of all of yours that I have had the pleasure of reading, this one is my favorite.. The contrasts and comparisons in the lines help guide the reader to the "in-between" skillfully and with ease.. I have read this one several times and the more I read it, the more I see and feel.. I REALLY enjoyed this one.. It not only makes the reader think, it makes them FEEL, which is the mark of a true artist... well done sir!!
