Fear

This is my first poem in my journal.

What is fear?

Does anybody know?

People may think they know,

But do they really?

Fear in my view,

Is a consequence.

If we do not have fear,

There shall be no consequences.

An interesting question to ask. I think that we often feel that we know exactly what our fears are, as we are able to define them quite easily when asked. But I think you touch on something interesting here with the opening lines. Do we really know what it is that we fear? Is it merely the unknown, that which lives in the unseen darkness that frightens us? I enjoyed this. Keep writing!
