Black RoseA Poem by JamesI walk down the road with black roses Ushering in the lusciousness in large doses --:-(@ Swaying to the music in my heart, finding solace Spiriting me away, to the land of promise --:-(@ The land of my mind, my only safe region At least I thought so, til this lesion --:-(@ As I sail in the waves of dream and thought I halt before a memory that is hard and taut --:-(@ Delving into the memory, working and soothing it It's oh so hard.. My strength won't permit --:-(@ She's standing there, not letting go I wish she wasn't in pain, with which I sowed --:-(@ "Love, let it be, it's not worth it" I say As my words fall on deaf ears, she stays --:-(@ She's holding a single black rose in full bloom Her grip so tight, ruby drops fall to their doom --:-(@ "M'lady please, it's dying.. Let it pass" is my plea Black tears stream down her face as she falls to her knees --:-(@ The rose falls to the ground, finally freed And she stands and immediately flees --:-(@ Instantly the memory sooths and is soft I continue to sail, in my thoughts aloft --:-(@ "I'm sorry, love, this is what needs to be, be at peace, go be free" © 2012 JamesAuthor's Note
