I Wonder...

I Wonder...

A Poem by Jamestown
"

Gifts of love...

"
I wonder...

At first I handed you a yellow rose letting you know
that you were my best friend till the end,

I wonder what you thought that rose meant?

Then as time went forward that rose color turned
into a deep crimson red as my heart felt our one time
friendship turn into a bleeding love,

As this love affair grew into something that everyone
desires, I gave you a engagement ring because I knew
that I couldn't live without you,

I wonder what you thought that ring meant?

A hop and skip later I asked for your hand in marriage
and gave you a one of a kind ring that was symbolic of
how I felt about you,

With love comes marriage and a baby or in our case
two in the carriage,

I wounder what you thought our kids meant?

Well just to be clear these gifts were completely out
of 100% love for you, I don't understand you, why would
you do what you did to me and the kids?

I wonder what you think marriage means?

We are obviously not on the same page and I am
sad to say " I don't think we ever were "
but I know for sure that I loved you with ALL of my
heart and will till the day I die,

Have a blessed life my friend, my wife, my ex,
I only pray for the best for you and me and together
we weren't meant to be,

I wonder did you ever love me?

The emotional pain is strong in this one, James. Your forgiveness is admirable. Some people do not know what marriage means...that's unfortunately true. Lydi**

A friend once said " it's twenty times better to be friends with someone than to be in love with them"
I wonder if the story stayed till the rose was yellow what would have happened?
Loved reading it. saving it to my favorites :)

It's right from the heart, this one. Sad, of course, an unanswered love is bound to die and still you keep the feeling in your heart. You have a big heart, my friend. Thank you for sharing this thoughts. :) Rudi

James you brought tears to my eyes with this one, such a beautiful yet sad write. It is always sad when a family break up, so many memories, so much intertwined and once you have children you are never truly able to separate...you will always be tied together through them!
I agree with Breezy, there is no vengeance in this write or ill thought which is typical when one is so hurt, it makes this a unique beautiful piece my friend!

Perfect flow of words describing your happiness and pain in every event on this wonderful yet a sad journey. Some people no matter how much you do can ever for a moment think about all the good things you served them. Let them go they are just not worth of some one special like you. God bless James :) you deserve to be happy...

Love is a choice. We choose to love the people we love. Some choose to love on conditional grounds and others love regardless. Be blessed!

When a couple takes a relationship from that yellow rose to marriage and children, and one of those partners leaves, the one left behind can do not but wonder if she ever loved at all. I guess the truth is, people can fall in and out of love though I don't think it is easy for some of us to understand. I love the way you build this piece, James, from a reflective point of view, and in 20/20 vision, repeat the "I wonder" line from the time that first yellow rose of friendship was given. Great write, my friend!

yes wow a circle of time for many a person here ... it is hard to always be on the same page in a relationship but I think if the intention is good then all can be good ... some people though have destrucive minds - they beat themselves up and everyone in their path get's a pice of them

your poem here gives us a clear image - a devoted man to a woman who is not yet found ... Well dond JT XX
