Wilted Rose...

Wilted Rose...

A Poem by Jamestown
"

Not so beautiful anymore...

"
Wilted Rose...

The rose I consider the most beautiful flower on the planet
and you I consider to be the crimson red rose of all women,

When I first laid eyes on my first rose the sight and aroma
of this gorgeous flower did something to me physically, mentally
and emotionally,

To this day I still can't completely explain the effects it has had
on me but I am for certain that I enjoyed the feelings that came
forth and know that it screams beauty in countless ways without
saying a word, in a sense " I ♡ this amazing flower "

When I first laid eyes on you and smelt the sweet aroma that
came from your beautiful body, I again experienced similar
effects that the rose had on me upon our first meeting, but obviously
to a stronger and real connection,

I had always considered you to be my beautiful flawless flower
my rose, full of beauty, sweet aroma, and unique just like every
single rose, authentic in it's own way,

Like my first rose I took you home and gave you the much needed
attention, love, and care to grow and mature, I did my very best to give
you my rose the best possible life I could , knowing one day reluctantly
that eventually my rose would wilt away on me and I would be left alone
with only memories to ponder,

And this is exactly what happened with my relationship with the rose
and I but you and I are a different story, nobody informed me that my
human rose would take all of the love and care that I provided and one
day decide that it wasn't enough for her and leave me,

I was always under the understanding that when a man and women
were married, that was a oath under Gods righteous right hand that
they are joined in holy matrimony till death do they part, or in other
words until my beautiful rose wilted away,

Maybe you were a rose just as I thought but perhaps you weren't the color
I thought, maybe I wanted so bad to see crimson red when in all actuality you were
black from the beginning or maybe just maybe you were always wilted, I really
don't know but I do know with a broken heavy heart that not every rose is as beautiful
as they appear...

The deception many of us have to come to terms with... a wilting flower that dies no matter how we nurture it... well-done, James...

people are just like roses....they can look so beautiful, and bloom so lovely...and then wilt, dry up, and sting us with their thorns....and we never expect it.
we are the gardeners with broken hearts and a bed of dead flowers.

nicely done allegory, Jamestown.

Awww this is beautiful. Yes, roses wilt, and sadly so does love . You have captured this so well. I hope someday you will find the Golden Rose that God has watered with His love and grace just for you.
Well penned!

Ahhh... you have given us a truthful journey to the book of pain. I am sorry you had to go through this dear friend. There are so many sharp and evident images of sadness that will stay with me for a while.
Blessings to you!

Gotta avoid those roses that are all thorns my friend! Sometimes beauty can be very deceiving and sadly love can be blind but we live and learn right? So even though the situation sucks I'm sure you learned something from it and now you can apply what learned to your next relationship.

Sad but great write James, I really enjoyed reading it!

Awesome. :]
And your welcome, as always.
It's amazing how we can fall in love with a certain beauty and scent. Then in our minds we share that same connection with a woman and can relate to the similarities. I can relate to how that love can start to change when we learn more about that person and realize they are not as real and pure as we thought; definitely not as real and pure as our love for them. It's a sad yet beautiful write James... you expressed yourself perfectly in this write, gave the reader perfect images and it is a piece that I can relate to 100% and my rose also wilted and I find myself alone. Great write one of my favorites from you buddy!

Art imitating life JT - this entices the reader to hope for permanence with the discovery of that rare 'crimson' rose and then through the romantic 'honeymoon period' and finally to the confusion and disappointment of how things turned out.
A sad tale of failed romance, well told.
