Let it ride...

Let it ride...

A Poem by Jamestown
"

Sometimes we must let things go...

"
Let it ride...

So many trials and tribulations in this fast paced life
we live,

So many grudges held against others for mistakes made
today and yesteryear,

So much love lost for the things that happen big or small,

Time is being wasted and love is drowning in the vast sea
of hate,

I say " let it ride "

If we could use that energy to forgive and move on
we wouldn't feel the suffocation of drowning,

I try to remind myself that most of that suffocating
feeling comes from within,

I have noticed when I let it ride, or in other words forgive
and move forward that drowning feeling doesn't linger,

I have found this easier said then done but I have also
found that when I do so, things seem easier to deal with
when I can breathe,

The enormous sea is filled with hate and the only way to
keep from adding to it is to do our part to not fall into it's
depth,

So like a surfer catching a wave and enjoying a piece of freedom
we should follow this example and find our piece of freedom
on the wave of forgiveness and " let it ride "

I agree, it's important to move on.
You can forgive, but it doesn't mean you should leave yourself vulnerable again.
I have forgiven many people over the years, but I still keep my distance from them.
For example, I could forgive a sex offender on the grounds they are mentally ill but it doesn't mean I'll be having coffee or tea with them anytime soon. Like never. I like what you are saying here but it's a difficult thing to do depending on the circumstances.

most people pay lip service to this sentiment JT. Even those who say they live by it - plainly don't.
Its a super piece of utopian thinking and I wish it were like that.
The real world pays it no mind it would seem.

Thanks for checking it out and b-blessed!
Forgive ourselves and those around us... and, all the old adages are there for a reason: "water under the bridge", "water off a duck's back", "turn the other cheek"... yes, it is difficult to do so when our initial response includes "getting our back's up", however, you are absolutely right, my friend, life will be so much better if we learn to forgive... for years I have lived with this philosophy: I refuse to let the things I cannot control, dictate my course in life; I can only control how I respond and I choose to respond in kind and not to worry about this I cannot change... well-said, James... a lesson for the world that would enjoy much more peace if people would only listen...

We do sometimes have to just step back and say "let it ride." Sometimes we dwell on things we can't control... I know I do sometimes as well even though I try not to. I am doing a really good job on not wasting anything on hate... no matter what I let it ride... can't have that in my heart :) Well penned my friend

And i call no one mentally ill ...... God knows how i would be if i was in her shoes ......
Hey JT, always let it ride! Except if your visiting Vegas,,, then you quit
When your ahead :-) rather than that, mostly in life letting it ride is a bold statement, and a courage under fire against overwhelming odds.

Well thx:) b-blessed!
A very ideal message of forgive and forget. Many of us cling on our past and harbour feelings of revenge, hatred, jealousy etc. not knowing that we are actually hurting our own self. The ideal way to live is to let go of our pains and worries. Wonderful message Jamestown :)
