Life's Lemonade...

Life's Lemonade...

Life's Lemonade...

When life serves us lemons
we are told to make lemonade,

At least that's how the old uplifting
saying goes,

In my life I have made my fair share
of lemonade, some batches have turned
out very sweet others not so much and a
few times the batch was made to perfection,

Today I was served those sour lemons yet
again and I know what I need to do but like
the sour lemons of the past it's always easier
said then done making that perfect batch,

I begin to wonder why these pesky lemons
keep finding there way into my life, to be perfectly
honest I don't even like lemons, but then I remind
myself why not, I have to keep telling myself it's
because these sour lemons need some sweetness
in their life and who better to add some sweetness to
their sour then me,

With that quick reminder I know what I have to do,
one batch of lemonade is on the way and this time
it will be pink cause I figure these lemons could use
some color in their yellow lives,

Lord I don't understand why I must keep being served
these sour lemons but I pray your will be done, and I
hope you understand when I say " I don't even like lemons
and am getting really tired of making lemonade "

Lemons can be cool
And i know how this feels

Only one day
You have a lemon tree

And it gives you shade
And has that freshness to it

I do not like lemons
But hey it wont be lemons forever

Loved it
This is an edgy write ..... James and its kind of fun

Hi James, I love the metaphor in this! Life and its many obstacles. It isn't always easy to go through or over them. Even if we know what needs to be done it can still be a big challenge.
FYI...i hate lemons..horrid and lemonade i had never had it until i moved to USA and its horrible. lol
Brilliant write! :)

Well they say a glass of lemon water every morning has many, many health benefits - perhaps if you just start by watering the lemons down to get used to the taste then you may aslo remember that lemons have thier place in life - these lemons ar the gift of a lesson disguised by their sour taste - don't let the sour distract you though oh no no - you must first of all laugh at the lemons, then wave your finger at them, then say 'oh no no no you sour little yellow balls of disguised deepend love, you will not put me off track any more because I have developed quite a liking for the dour, the sour, for in the sour, in the lessons I have the opportunity to learn and grow and move onwards and upwards once and for all - so thank you wee little lemons for helping me on my way - now I was thinking about giving y'all a squeeze for good measure - would you be ok with that? '

And of course they will be ok with that for just like god, just like everything else on the planet, we are all in it together and we will continue to march on toward the greater good. XX

We all get our lemons in life, James. Sometimes you get tired of making lemonade, I can understand it very much. Good poem, James. :) Rudi

It kind of has a spontaneous riffing thing happening with it.
The last three stanzas were real good. And that last stanza made the poem.

Its all bittersweet my friend in a most enjoyable write of yours so far. The hardships we all face made me smile not out of disrespect but knowing I wasn't alone . We have all been there I just wished you wrote this when I was in my teens onwards. NOW you write it!!! lol:):)!

i felt the hidden message behind this piece is the difficulties which we face and how we tackle them with positivity. Such lemons will always be thrown at our lives but it's up to us how we face them and overcome them. Amazing work Jamestown :)
